Despite always being teased for not particularly good at finding nice new places to eat, he didn’t give up in his search. On Mothers Day this year, he was looking for some nice flowers for his mum at the flower market in Prince Edward and guess what he’d discovered?! It’s a cute and sweet little cafe inside a florist!
So he asked mr & (soon to be) mrs beancurd&mash to join us for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The place was quieter than I thought and the customer who was eating on his own had kindly offered the big table to us. We ended up spending quite a long time chatting and eating in this cozy place 🙂
As you can see the café is fully immersed inside the florist where pot plants and dried flowers were placed in every corner of the shop. There is a specialty coffee counter at the corner and another one with an espresso machine and fridge on the other side of the cafe.
Aside from the coffee, Hayfever also provides light meals and cold bottled drinks. The four of us ordered two sandwiches, a croissant, two cakes, a muffin and some coffees & tea.
Mr ironman liked their espresso on ice in particular; its strong, tangy and chilling characters had make itself a perfect choice for a hot and tiring afternoon.
The cappuccino I had was rich and aromatic but the froth was slightly on the coarse side; but overall it was a good one 🙂
The sandwich was fresh and the croissant was abundantly filled with smoked salmon and egg mayo but I would be more happy if the croissant was crispier.
I tried a bit of mr and mrs beancurd&mash’s chocolate cake and muffin and they both tasted very warm and buttery.
Mr. ironman and I shared a slice of red velvet cake but it tasted more like a nice piece of chocolate cake as it lacked the tanginess in both the cake and the cream cheese filling.
I would really recommend this cafe if you are looking for a quiet place to read or to catch up with your friends in this busy part of Kowloon coz it’s a really cozy and relaxing place to spend your afternoon in.
